Barbara Knuth's Biography
Barbara Knuth was born in central Wisconsin in 1983. She is a 2007 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater where she studied under Teresa Faris and received her BFA in Metalsmithing. Moving to San Diego to receive her MFA, Barbara is currently a graduate student at San Diego State University studying under Helen Shirk and Sondra Sherman. Barbara has received two grants from the undergraduate research program at the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater which assisted her with independent technical and conceptual research projects. She has also received a work-study scholarship to attend Penland School of Crafts and several student scholarships to attend SNAG conferences and the YUMA symposium. Recent exhibitions include Craftforms 2007, Wayne, PA, Wearable Expressions, Ranchos Pslos Verdes, CA, Close to the Skin, West Palm Beach, FL. As she anticipates graduation in spring 2010, Barbara plans for a career as an artist, metalsmith, and educator.
