Clay West's Biography
Clay West received a B.A. in Fine Art with and emphasis in Lithography at the University of California at Santa Cruz, and an M.F.A. from San Diego State. He has exhibited work at the 808 Gallery in Boston, The Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena, the Afif Gallery in Philadelphia, the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Ana, the Anthenaeum Music and Arts Library in San Diego and other venues in Santa Cruz, Seattle, and Chico.
Clay's work is rooted in traditional printmaking and photographic mediums, but combines contemporary mixed mediums and book art forms to create pieces that struggle to assimilate divergent content creating unsettled narrative structures.
Currently Clay is living in San Diego and teaching lithography at San Diego State University.
