Craig Carlson's Biography

Craig Carlson began an interest in photography in his early teens and worked in student publications throughout High School, Community College and University Studies. Craig received his Bachelors degree in Editorial Journalism in 1973 from San Diego State University and Masters of Arts degree in Studio Arts with an emphasis in Photography from Humboldt State University in 1976. He has owned and operated a commercial photography studio for over 25 years serving editorial, financial and advertising clients. He has taught photography for over 30 years in numerous Colleges throughout the San Diego County and has been currently teaching creative photography and digital imaging in his Art 340 course in the School of Art, Design and Art History at San Diego State University for fifteen years. He is the author of “Art 340 Workbook”, a 160 page self published instruction guide in photography for his Art 340 students. He also teaches intermediate and advance photography and digital capture at local community colleges. He also is a manuscript and book proposal reviewer for Focal Press. Craig has exhibited his photographs since 1970 and is included in corporate and private collections and for the last ten years he has photographed throughout the Western United States.
