Sculpture Facilities
The sculpture area is fully equipped to accommodate a large breath of
fabrication needs. The facility houses a woodshop, metal shop and casting
facilities. The 1000+ square foot sculpture studio woodshop contains the following tools:
- a table saw
- 3 band saws
- 2 drill presses
- panel saw
- jigsaw
- miter saw
- belt, disc and spindle sanders
The 2000+ square foot sculpture studio metal shop is outfitted with a full array of cutting, bending and shaping machinery that includes:
- a lathe
- step shear
- hydraulic pipe and tube bending machiney
- computer operated trace cutter
- plasma cutter
- mig, tig and oxyacetylene welding
- an English Wheel
- and complete forging equipment with an industrial grade power hammer and a comprehensive casting facility for bronze, iron and aluminum.
Graduate students accepted into the program receive spacious private studios with 24 hour year round accessibility (including winter and summer breaks) to all facilities. Additionally, qualified students have access to a CNC router, as well as photography (digital and chemical), printmaking/bookmaking and new media facilities.
