This site was custom designed and programmed as a project between Part Time Faculty member and IT Consultant, Leigh Cotnoir, and undergraduate Multimedia student, Kyle Florence(external link). The team built the relational database model, CSS design, and Content Management System from the ground up using Open Source software for its programming language engines and database backend.
The Artwork
The School of Art, Design, and Art History is located high on the edge of campus with vistas of Northern, Western, and Eastern San Diego. Not only does it have sweeping views because of its elevation, but it also has unique architecture that sets it apart from many other buildings on campus. We chose to create a header image that represents the School's unique character and scenic views from morning until night. If you visit the site at different times of the day, you will notice that the image of the school changes based on U.S. Pacific Time every two hours. Below is a preview of time changes.
