For this installment of Downtown at Sundown, join us for a pop-up event with Black Xpression featuring a one-night only program of open mic performances and art at the SDSU Downtown Gallery. Created “for the community, by the community” and founded by SDSU student Ronald Williams, the organization is committed to shining a lens on social justice work and encouraging education by providing opportunities for local creatives and businesses.
Started in 2016, Black Xpression is a safe space for individuals of all backgrounds to perform spoken word poetry, songs, beats, or freestyle rapping. Learn more about Black Xpression through their Facebook @IWillXpress or follow their Instagram @xpress_it.

Downtown at Sundown is in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCASD) on the third Thursday of every month from 5 to 8 p.m. Neighborhood restaurants including Aaharn Thai, Carnivore, and The Stone Brewing Company Store will stay open late.
