Investigating ideas of connectivity, sentimentality and the ephemeral, coupled with an innovative exploration of materials, McCambly’s work invites pause.  Through a process rooted in precision and repetition, the work aims to encourage an intimate experience with beauty and nuance within the language of reductive formalism.

Originally from Massachusetts, Jessica McCambly lives and works in San Diego, CA.  She earned an M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from the University of North Texas, College of Visual Arts and Design. McCambly’s work has been featured in both national and international galleries, such as Scott White Contemporary Art, Holly Johnson Gallery, 500X, Helmuth Projects and Kenise Barnes Fine Art.  Her work was selected for inclusion in the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego’s Here Not There: San Diego Art Now and Trash at the New Children’s Museum in San Diego, CA, in addition to exhibitions at the Cornell Museum of Fine Arts, Morris Graves Museum of Art, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Dallas Contemporary.
