The School of School of Art and Design has an Undergraduate Academic Advisor and a Graduate Advisor. Please make an appointment through the SDSU Navigate/EAB system and run your Degree Evaluation through my.sdsu so you are prepared with questions prior to your meeting.

Yes! You should make a strong effort to see your major advisor at least once per academic year. This will help ensure you are taking the right classes and are on track to graduate.
Yes if you make an appointment and no if you stop by drop-ins. Please log into SDSU Navigate to see appointments and drop-in availability for our Advising Team. If you are a first year or sophomore student, please meet with your Coordinated Care Advisor. If you are a junior or senior, please meet with Art Advising.
Our Advising Team is trained and ready to help you with all of your academic advising needs while you are a student at SDSU. If you have questions we cannot answer, we will refer you to the appropriate office.
All undergraduate students must demonstrate competency in writing skills at the upper division level as a requirement for the baccalaureate degree. Refer to the University Catalog's Graduation Requirements for the Bachelor's Degree web page for more information about the GWAR requirement.
Depending on your major, it will vary from 30-36 units of upper division coursework. Please refer to your degree evaluation and the course catalog.
- The art minor requires completion of at least 21 units. The 21 units must include ART 100, ART 101, and at least 3 upper division art classes (300 or above).
- The art history minor requires completion of at least 21 units. The 21 units must include ART 258, ART 259, ART 263, and at least 12 upper division art history classes (300 or above).
