Biographical Information

Cathy Nguyen (she/her/hers) completed her undergraduate studies in Visual Communications at the University of San Diego and her MFA in Graphic Design from San Diego State University. As a graphic designer, Nguyen collaborates with institutions, organizations, and clients in the educational and arts and culture sectors to bring design visions to life across print and digital platforms.

Curious about the palpable tensions of communication, Nguyen’s personal practice explores visual poetics that intersect creative writing, typographic experiments, and intermedia print processes, often in the form of letterpress and artist’s books.

Nguyen currently teaches at both of her alma maters: design foundations and visual communications at the University of San Diego, as well as courses in graphic design at San Diego State University.
